Bikur Cholim at Hackensack University Medical Center

Bikur Cholim Bergen County offers both Shabbos and weekday hospitality for families visiting loved ones, as well as out of town patients needing to be close to the hospital ahead of a procedure. We manage these four apartments, conveniently within blocks of the hospital. Our volunteers stock these apartments with all the basic food and self care items one would find helpful while traveling away from home.

Two of the suites, located in the Audrey Hepburn Childrens House, were fully remodeled with the financial assistance of the Congregation Ahavath Torah community in memory or Chana Poupko A’H . Read More >>

Reservations and access to the Shabbos rooms can be made by calling Lydia Zuckier at 201-679-6756.

The hospital hosts a few Kosher food pantries. They are located in the following areas:

  • Two in the Women and Children’s Building (5W, 5E for pediatric oncology families);
  • Helena Theurer Pavilion on the 7th floor next to the elevator. Please note that this building can be accessed from the main building from the first or second floors
  • 4th floor in Link building in family sitting room outside of SICU
